About St Margarets

Welcome to St Margaret's. Whether you are just visiting or this is the beginning of a more regular relationship, we are really glad to see you.

We believe that a church should serve the needs of the community and we invite you to join any of our Sunday Services or weekday activities, to meet other people, make friends and explore your faith at your own pace.

The Sunday Services include activities for all ages, from the baby and tots crche, through a thriving Junior Church and Youth Group, to adult and family worship. So why not come along and see?

Community Use

We are delighted that the building is used by many community groups. Every so often we meet together, to learn about one another and join in a service of celebration. For information about hiring a room on a regular basis - please visit our hall booking page.

Church Government and Organisation

Methodists believe that everyone has something to contribute to the life of the church. We aim to have a balance of people on our committees and in leadership positions - taking account of age, gender and ethnic origin. The Church Council meets 3 or 4 times a year and makes all major decisions - this is made up of representatives elected by the whole church family as well as officers of the church - such as church stewards and treasurer etc. Office holders do not normally serve for more than 6 years. Church Stewards have a key leadership role as well as needing to have an eye to practicalities.
